Who Even is Faye?

Neurodivergent Millennial. Lover of film, retro games, arts and crafts, memes and references. As a therapist I’m a chill, capable human being. I won’t ever share my troubles or anxieties, or too much about my personal life, but my style of therapy is being a relatable person to speak to. Especially with young people and Neurodivergent folks, we tend to mask a lot and feel uncomfortable speaking as ourselves, and I aim to make sessions as comfy and accessible as possible so my clients can unmask safely when they feel ready.

You don't have to hide who you are

If you don’t know, neurodivergent folks tend to have received the message that our authentic selves are undesirable (too much, too quiet, too weird, etc.), and a big part of the damage we sustain is trying to be what people want us to be. We do this by performing as a more “likable” person, or trying to be less of ourselves, so that we can be accepted. This is called ‘masking’. It can be really damaging to our sense of self, and I make space for you to be your authentic self, as I don’t think you’re too much, too quiet or too weird.

Will Faye keep my secrets?

Like all good therapy, my work is confidential. I won’t tell parents, employers, schools or health services anything unless you have given me direct consent. I will break a secret to keep you safe, but other than that everything you say stays with me.

Okay, but what’s Faye’s background?

I’ve worked in London as a therapist for over 10 years, and as a specialist in Neurodivergency for 4 years. For the last 4 years I’ve also been working with the entertainment industry providing support for young people and adults in Film, TV, Music and Video Game Development (which is really cool seeing as I love film, TV, music and video games).

My qualifications are a Masters in Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, a PGDip in Autism and Asperger’s from Sheffiled Hallum and a BA in Philsosophy and Ethics from University of London. I trained as a therapist at the Maudsley Hospital and worked there and in public sector mental health for a few years, before working in an arts college. I’ve been working mainly in the film, TV and Music Industries for the past 4 years and taking private clients.

I am Accredited with NCPS and abide by their standards and code of conduct.

Just be you

I am a deeply passionate Queer Ally and work closely with LGBTQIA+, gender issues and Transgender People. I’ve always worked with people from diverse backgrounds, as we are all indeed human beings.

All are welcome with me.
